Chely Sings About Bumper His SUV

I was listening to the radio this afternoon because I got bored after fixing my alternator. Yeah, I’m a car enthusiast and I know how every single car part works. Well anyway, during my siesta, I happenned to hear the song from Chely Wright. I miss this song. The song is called “Bumper of My S.U.V.”. And just in case you are not familiar with the song, here, I took the lyrics online for you to sing along with the song.

***

Bumper of My S.U.V.
Chely Wright

I’ve got a bright red sticker on the back of my car,
Says: “United States Marines.”
An’ yesterday a lady in a mini-van,
Held up her middle finger at me.
Does she think she knows what I stand for,
Or the things that I believe?
Just by looking at a sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.

See, my brother Chris, he’s been in,
For more than 14 years now.
Our Dad was in the Navy during Vietnam,
Did his duty, then he got out.
And my Grandpa earned his Purple Heart,
On the beach of Normandy.
That’s why I’ve got a sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.

But that doesn’t mean that I want war:
I’m not Republican or Democrat.
But I’ve gone all around this crazy world,
Just to try to better understand.
An’ yes, I do have questions:
I get to ask them because I’m free.
That’s why I’ve got a sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.

‘Cause I’ve been to Hiroshima,
An’ I’ve been to the DMZ.
I’ve walked on the sand in Baghdad,
Still don’t have all of the answers I need.
But I guess I wanna know where she’s been,
Before she judges and gestures to me,
‘Cause she don’t like my sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.

So I hope that lady in her mini-van,
Turns on her radio and hears this from me.
As she picks up her kids,
From their private school,
An’ drives home safely on our city streets.
Or to the building where her church group meets:
Yeah, that’s why I’ve got a sticker for the US Marines,
On the bumper of my S.U.V.

Touch And Go

Yet another road song from the Cars. Crammed with a mesmerizing sluice of synthesizer, Touch & Go is one good tune to accompany your daily driving. With the melody kicks of Ric Ocasek, there’s no other remedy but to listen more…

***

Touch & Go
Cars

All I need is what you’ve got
All Ill tell is what you’re not
All you know is what you hear
I get this way when you come near

Then I know its gone too far
Uh, oh, I touched your star
And it felt so right
Just like the hush of midnight
And then you said
With me its touch and go-o-o-o
Touch and go-o-o-o

All I need is you tonight
Flying like a cement kite, yeah
In your headlock on the floor
Who could ever ask for more

And I know its gone too far
Uh, oh, I touched your star
And it felt so right
Just like the hush of midni-ight
And then you said
With me its touch and go-o-o-o
Touch and go-o-o-o

All I want is you tonight
I guess that dress does fit you tight, yeah
You know that look does make me shake
It almost looks too good to fake

And I know its gone too far

Uh, oh, I touched your star-r-r
And it felt so right
Just like the hush of midni-ight
Then you said
With me its touch and go-o-o-o
Touch and go-o-o-o

Well its touch and go-o-o-o
Its touch and go-o-o-o

Well its touch and go-o-o-o
Touch and go-o-o-o
Touch and go-o-wo yeah

Well its touch and go-o-o-o
Touch and go-o-o-o
Touch and go

All I need is what you’ve got

Drive Better Drunk

Here’s another crazy song from Afroman! It’s kind of whacked but I’m sure you’ll love this one. Check this out!

***

Drive Better Drunk

Afroman

Don’t grab my keys when the party’s over
I drive better drunk, than you do sober

Don’t grab my keys when the party’s over
I drive better drunk, than you do sober

I don’t know what you’ve been told
I’ve been drinkin since 12 years old
Started in 1988
Hangin at the liquor store real real late
I drunk a swallow, I drunk a cup
Drunk the bottle, I threw up
Over the years, I learned to pace it
Get kinda tipsy, but not that wasted
I like beer, but I love malt liquor
Cuz malt liquor, get me drunk quicker
Stop on the freeway, take a whiz
Hop in my Cadillac and handle my biz
I drive better drunk than I do sober
Cuz when I’m sober right
I think I can make through the, red light
Go, go, go, I hope I’m not dead right
But when I’m drunk, I know I can’t
So I ain’t, I drive like a saint
Drinkin is a class I did not flunk
I’m a Colt 45 certified drunk

Don’t grab my keys when the party’s over
I drive better drunk, than you do sober

Don’t grab my keys when the party’s over
I drive better drunk, than you do sober

I dropped outta school in 9-0
Became the world’s greatest wino
I drink at home, I drink at work
Ignore the boss, he just a jerk
I drink 12:00 in the day
Relax my nerve, serve my yay’
When my day go bad, I always drink
Calm down, relax and think
Only days we like to clown
A 24-ounce ‘fore the sun go down
On weekends, that’s when it’s cool
To drink a 40-ounce, and act a fool
Once I get into that zone
I leave that beer and that liquor alone
I can barely walk, I can barely talk
But I can glide that Cadillac like a hawk

Don’t grab my keys when the party’s over
I drive better drunk, than you do sober

Don’t grab my keys when the party’s over
I drive better drunk, than you do sober

I ran from the cops in the rain
With my church shoes on
I drove from Palmdale, California to Compton
Drunk two 40-ounces, Old English 800, the club ended
All the homies left my in the parkin lot toe’ back
Wasn’t nobody out there but me and the sheriff department
Fell asleep on the 14
Woke up on the 405
Fell asleep on the 405
Woke up on the 105
Fell asleep on the 105
Woke up in bed
Call that, uh, autopilot
But don’t try that at home; I got skills
I am to liquor, what the Crocodile Hunter is to alligators
“These crocs, they’re not your ordinary crocs
“You gotta grab them in the mandible”
We can’t find no hotels man (you know what I’m sayin)
So we might have to drive
All day, and all night
I got some music
So it’s alright

All day, and all night
I got some music
It’s alright

All day, and all night
I got some music
It’s alright

All day, and all night
I got some music
It’s alright

All day, and all night
I got some music
It’s alright

Make you feel good
Rollin through the hood
With your windows down
Checkin out your sounds
Just lend me a light
No stress and strive, baby

Christina Sings Car Wash

Have you seen Christina Aguilera working at the car wash? Certainly you won’t. She’s a pop star and all she can give you is sing her best songs as a pop artist. Do you remember the movie Shark Tale, an animated movie where Will Smith gave the voice to Oscar, the Shark Slayer? The song “Car Wash” was actually sung by two of Hollywood’s RnB singers Missy Elliott and of course Christina Aguilera. You can download the song online just like Mercedes S Class radiator which you can also avail of on the net.

Here is the song. Now sing along..

***

Car Wash
Christina Aguilera feat. Missy Elliott

Y’all small tuna fish, I’m one big catch
(This is a Shark Tale exclusive)
Y’all small tuna fish, I’m one big catch
(Here we go again)
Y’all small tuna fish, I’m one big catch
(Say what, say what, yeah)
Y’all small tuna fish, I’m one big catch

Ooh, do do do do do do do
Car wash, car wash
Ooh, do do do do do do do
Car wash, car wash

(Yeah, let’s drop it on ‘em like this)

Ooh, do do do do do do, na na na ah, ooh
Ooh, do do do do do do, na na na ah, ooh

You might not ever get rich, ha
Let me tell you it’s better than digging a ditch
There ain’t no telling who you might meet
A movie star or maybe a common thief

Working at the car wash (oh oh, yeah yeah)
At the car wash, yeah (ooh, yeah yeah)
At the car wash (sing it with me now)
Working at the car wash, yeah

(Oh, oh)

Come summer the work gets kind of hard
This ain’t no place to be if you’re planning on being a star
Let me tell you it’s always cool
And the boss don’t mind sometimes if you’re acting like a fool

Working at the car wash (oh oh, yeah yeah)
At the car wash, yeah (ooh ooh ooh)
At the car wash (ow said, now come and work it with me now, yeah)
Working at the car wash, yeah

Said, said, said, sing

(Work and work)
Well those cars never stop coming
(Work and work)
Keep those rags and machines humming
(Work and work)
My fingers to the bone
(Work and work)
Keep on and can’t wait till it’s time to go home

Hey, get your car washed today
Fill up and you don’t have to pay
Hey, get your car washed today
Fill it up, right away

[Missy Elliott:]
Work at the, car wash
Sharks in the water make they jaws lock
When I swim through the grim, I’m too hot
Y’all can make y’all bets
Y’all small tuna fish, I’m one big catch
Shark slayer, bow down playa
‘Cause this right here will be your worst nightmare (nightmare)
Work that, work that, pop back, hurt that
Turn this up and bang it all up in the surface

(Work and work)
9 to 5 I got to keep that fat stack coming
(Work and work)
No matter how big the shark is, the right keep running
(Work and work)
Washing cars ain’t no place to be a superstar man
(Work and work)
That’s why I work, and work

Working at the car wash (ohhh, yeah)
At the car wash, yeah (come on work, baby work it, say now)
At the car wash (ahh)
Working at the car wash, yeah

So come on, come on, come on, come on, come on

Ooh, do do do do do do, na na na ah, ooh
(Now keep it coming)
Ooh, do do do do do do (woo, so), na na na ah, ooh
(You may not ever get rich, but hey)

Hey, get your car washed today (hey)
Hey, get your car washed today
Hey, get your car washed today (phenomenal hit)

I Feel You

I feel you. That’s the song that reminds me of the boy band behind the successful “Kryptonite” song. Remember Brad Arnold, Matt Roberts and Todd Harrell? Yeah, the 3 Doors Down.

The American alternative rock band isn’t just a group of talented individuals who sings and entertains people. They also help people. Through the help of its The Better Life Foundation, the band has held a “3 Doors Down and Friends” benefit concert since 2003. To note, the proceeds of the benefit concert held on the 2nd day of December at the Mobile Convention Center were given to Hurricane Katrina survivors.

The members feel the righteousness of the deed. There’s something in giving that make them jubilant. What else do they feel?

***

I Feel You
3 Doors Down

They gave me a life that’s not so easy to live
And then they sent me on my way
I left my loving, forgot my dreams
I lost them along the way
Those little things you say
When words mean so much
You never back down
And they all shy away
You always listen to me

And what do I care to get me through these sleepless nights
And what do I have to hold when no one’s there to hold me tight
And what do I see the only thing that gets me through this is I feel and I feel you

And this ain’t no bitterness
Then I’d rose just the same
Got this road short and can be long
Another endless day, another seven hundred miles that’ll take me further from my home

Those little things you say
When words mean so much
You never back down
And they all shy away
You always listen to me

And what do I care to get me through these sleepless nights
And what do I have to hold when no one’s there to hold me tight
And what do I see the only thing that gets me through this is I feel and I feel you

I know what you’re going through now
Believe me I live this

And what do I care to get me through these sleepless nights
And what do I have to hold when no one’s there to hold me tight
And what do I see the only thing that gets me through this is I feel and I feel you

Audioslave Drives A Getaway Car

No one could ever forget the American rock band that brought “Be Yourself” to become a smash hit. Audioslave was formed in Los Angeles, California in 2001. Chris Cornell, a former Soundgarden frontman and rhythm guy, is the new vocalist of the band. Tom Morello on the lead guitar was also a former instrumentalist of Rage Against the Machine. Other band members are Tim Commerford on bass and backing vocals and Brad Wilk on drums.

The band is the union of Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden according to some critics but the new second album “Out of Exile” connotes a different identity. To give you a snippet of the songs from Audioslave, here is Getaway Car so you could sing along with its lyrics.

***

Getaway Car
Audioslave

The first time i saw you you were
chasin down
a cyclone
all alone in the field
with railyards and clovers i kept rollin on
never thought you’d wind up chasin
me

i settle down
i won’t hesitate
to hit the highway
before you leave me to waste no
i’ll settle up and i’ll help you find something to drive
before you drown yourself

your tired of walkin
and you loathe the ground
the sideway belly touched your feet
black moons to slowly to hold you down
with ring hand you take it out on me

settle down
i won’t hesitate to hit the highway
before you leave me to waste
saddle up and i’ll help you find something to drive
before you drive me insane

so get yourself a car
drive it all alone
get ourself a car
and ride it on the wind
get yourself a car
and drive it all alone
get yourself a car
and ride it on the wind yea

yea we’ll settle down
i won’t hesitate to hit the highway
before you leave me to waste
settle up and i’ll help you find something to drive
before you drive me insane

get yourself a car
and drive it all alone
get yourself a car
and ride it on the wind
get yourself a car
and drive it all alone
get yourself a car
and ride it on the wind

Other songs of Audioslave can be seen on the net, just like Acura struts which can also be purchased online.

Hey There Delilah…

I always prefer hip-hop songs whenever I’m in my car and that’s a part of my daily routine. But I just had a change of heart from upbeat songs to acoustic ones… the songs with harmony with a touch of love. So far, my favorite acoustic song for now is entitled “Hey There Delilah” by the Plain White T’s. It’s a pretty cool song.

I’ve included the lyrics in this post for you to get familiar with the song. Enjoy!

***

Hey There Delilah

Plain White T’s

What’s it like in New York City?
I’m a thousand miles away
But girl, tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Times Square can’t shine as bright as you
I swear it’s true

Hey there Delilah
Don’t you worry about the distance
I’m right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice, it’s my disguise
I’m by your side

Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
What you do to me

Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me, girl
Someday I’ll pay the bills with this guitar
We’ll have it good
We’ll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

Hey there Delilah
I’ve got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I’d write it all
Even more in love with me you’d fall
We’d have it all

Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they’ve got planes and trains and cars
I’d walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
and we’ll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you’re to blame

Hey there Delilah
You be good and don’t you miss me
Two more years and you’ll be done with school
And I’ll be making history like I do
You’ll know it’s all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here’s to you
This one’s for you

Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
What you do to me.

Are You Trampled Underfoot?

I wasn’t born in the 70s but Led Zeppelin songs are pretty much familiar to me. Perhaps the band’s songs may be your parents stuff but rock lovers will surely appreciate its music.

Who wants more of Led Zeppelin? You can have the group next month.

In a press conference, it was confirmed by promoter Harvey Goldsmith that the surviving members of Led Zeppelin will be having their reunion for the Ahmet Ertegün tribute show at The O2. The reunion is scheduled to happen in London on Dec. 10. In the said event they will prove that Led Zeppelin isn’t as seasoned as Oldsmobile shocks for nothing.

Wikipedia writes:

Led Zeppelin were an English rock band that formed in September 1968. Led Zeppelin consisted of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham. With their heavy, guitar-driven sound, Led Zeppelin is regarded as one of the first heavy metal bands. Their rock-infused interpretation of the blues, and folk genres also incorporated rockabilly, reggae, soul, funk, jazz, classical, Celtic, Indian, Arabic, pop, Latin, and country.

Over 25 years after disbanding following Bonham’s 1980 death, Led Zeppelin continues to be held in high regard for their artistic achievements, commercial success, and broad influence. The band has sold more than 300 million albums worldwide, including 109.5 million sales in the United States, and they are the only band to have had all their albums reach the U.S. Billboard Top 10. Led Zeppelin is ranked No. 1 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.

Trampled Underfoot
Led Zeppelin

Greased and slicked down body, groovy leather trim
I like the way you hold the road, mama, it ain’t no sin

Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love

Trouble-free transmission, helps your oil’s flow
Mama, let me pump your gas, mama, let me do it all

Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love

Dig that heavy metal underneath your hood
Baby, I could work all night, believe I’ve got the perfect tools

Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love

A model built for comfort, really built with style
Special list edition, mama, let me feast my eyes

Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love

Factory air-conditioned, heat begins to rise
Guaranteed to run for hours, mama it’s a perfect size

Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love

Groovin’ on the freeway, gauge is on the red
Gun down on my gasoline, I believe I’m gonna crack a head.

Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
I can’t stop talkin’ about…

Come to me for service every hundred miles
Baby, let me check your points, fix your overdrive

Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love

Fully automatic, comes in any size
Makes me wonder what I did, before we synchronized

Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love

Feather-light suspension, Konis just couldn’t hold
I’m so glad I took a look inside your showroom doors

Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love
Talkin’ ’bout love

Oh, I can’t stop talkin’ about love.

Gin Blossoms Sings About A Car

Gin Blossoms is a group from Tempe, Arizona who was formed in 1987 as alternative rock band. They took their band name from the photo of W.C. Fields which was seen with the caption of “W.C. Fields with gin blossoms,” which means gin-ravaged nose. The band was musically influenced by The Byrds and Tom Petty. They have released three albums and were noted to have several hits in the mid 1990’s. The band soon broke up in 1997 however, after several years, they came back in 2005 doing DVD concert tour videos and their promised fourth album. They soon revealed their fourth album last August 8, 2006 with the Hybrid Recordings label.

The album is now available online just like the Dodge door handle but before you purchase one, sing along with the hit which they sung about their car. Here it is.

***

My Car
Gin Blossoms

Streetlights on, the night air’s cool
I’m driving right past my old school
I’m looking for my pack of cigarettes
I’m thinking back on things I’ve done
I can’t forget the stupid ones
It seems I do my best by accident
What’s that sound, what’s that song
What’s this street I’m driving on
In my car
In my car
I miss her feel, her touch, her taste
I feel the distance everyplace
This distance can’t be taken casually
I take my time, just drive around
Feeling lost in my hometown
Every turn I take is comforting
What’s that sound, what’s that song
What’s this street I’m driving on
In my car
In my car
I’ll take a break from all their big plans
My first mistake was listening to them
I made a mess it’s all been proven
Over and over again
Over and over again
Streetlights on, the night air’s cool
I’m driving right past my old school
Looking for some face I can’t forget
I take my time, just drive around
Feeling lost in my hometown
Every turn I take’s an accident
What’s that sound, what’s that song…

Crossroads

http://g-funkmusicinc.com/files/page0_blog_entry310_1.jpg

I have been listening to not too old songs and I happened to once again hear the rhythm and fast rapping skills of the members of Bone Thugs N Harmony. I enjoy the music that these guys make because they have a message that they want to share and they are doing it through their music just like Mazda sharing their passion with automobiles with reliable auto parts such as Mazda MPV parts.

The group is composed of Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Wish Bone, and Flesh-n-Bone. These guys have already been awarded with a Grammy for the song I want to share with you, “Tha Crossroads”. So here’s the lyrics to the Grammy Award-winning song:

***
Crossroads
Bone Thugs N Harmony

Bone, bone, bone, bone, bone, bone, bone, bone, bone
Tell me what ya gonna do
where there ain’t no where to run
when judgment comes for you,
when judgment comes for you?
What ya gonna do
where there ain’t no where to hide
when judgment comes for you,
Cause it’s gonna come for you

Bizzy:
let’s all bring it in for Wally
Eazy sees Uncle Charlie,
Little Boo, God’s got him,
and I’m gonna miss everybody,
I done roll with flows my game, looked at him while he lay
When playing with destiny, play too deep for me to say,
Lil Lazy came to me told me if he should decease
well then please bury me by my Gran Gran and when you can come follow
me.

Layzie:
God bless you workin on a plan to heaven
follow the Lord all 24/7 days
God is who we praise even though the devils all up in my face.
He keepin me safe and in my place

God rest our souls cause I know I might meet you up at the crossroads
Yall know ya forever got love from
Bone Thugs baby

Lil E-Z long gone,

But when it’s time to die gotta go bye bye
all ‘lil thug could do was cry, cry
Why’d they kill my dog?
Damn man I miss my Uncle Charles yall

Heeeeeeeey, and we pray, and we pray, and we pray, and we pray

Krayzie:
Now follow me roll stroll whether it’s hell or it’s heaven
let’s come take a visit of the people that’s long gone they rest
Wally, Eazy, Terry, Boo

And I’m gonna miss everybody and I’m gonna miss everybody
Livin’ in a hateful world,

that’s how we roll
Livin’ in a hateful world,
sending me (straight to heaven)
that’s how we roll
Livin’ in a hateful world,

And I ask the good lord why,
he sigh, he told me we live to die
Whats up wit dat murder yall?
See my little ousin was hung
Somebody really wrong anybody wanna touch that star?
And Ms. Sleazy set up easy to fall
You know while we sinnin

He comin again and again and again

Can somebody anybody tell me why hey…
Can somebody anybody tell me why,
he died,

I don’t wanna die……..
(so wrongoo, so wrongoo, wrong)
See you at the crossroads (crossroads, crossroads)
So you won’t be lonely
See you at the crossroads (crossroads, crossroads)
So you won’t be lonely
See you at the crossroads (crossroads, crossroads)
So you won’t be lonely
See you at the crossroads (crossroads, crossroads)
So you won’t be lonely
See you at the crossroads (crossroads, crossroads)
So you won’t be lonely
See you at the crossroads (crossroads, crossroads)
So you won’t be lonely
See you at the crossroads (crossroads, crossroads)
So you won’t be lonely
See you at the crossroads (crossroads, crossroads)
So you won’t be lonely
See you at the crossroads (crossroads, crossroads)
So you won’t be lonely…….
