The Ghost In You

The image “http://www.lyricallysquared.com/albums/Psychedelic_furs_forever_now.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

It feels so good when you get to hear the music of the past, particularly the ones you’re not so familiar with. One great example is the ‘New Wave’ type of music during the 80s. They are totally feel-good music to my ears. One of my favorites from my selection is Ghost in You by the Psychedelic Furs. It totally brings back great memories and relieves me from stress. Makes me forget about car problems and busted ignition coils.

Anyway, if you want to feel the spirit of the 80’s, sing-along with me with the complete lyrics provided below. Reveal the real Ghost in You!

***
Ghost in You
Psychedelic Furs

A man in my shoes runs a light
All the papers lie tonight
But falling over you
Is the news of the day

Angels fall like rain
And love, is all of heaven way
Inside you the time moves and she dont fade
The ghost in you she dont fade away

The race is on, Im on your side
But hearing you my engines died
Im in the mood for you
Or for running away

All the stars come down in you
But love, love, love you cant give it away
Inside you the time moves and she dont fade
The ghost in you she dont fade
Inside you the time moves and she dont fade away
Dont you know she dont fade

Dont you go it makes no sense
And all these talking supermen
Just take away the time just to get it away
Aint it just like the rain
Cause love, love, love, love is only heaven away
Inside you the time moves and she dont fade
The ghost in you she dont fade away

Inside you the time moves and she dont fade away
The ghost in you she dont fade

A man in my shoes runs a light
But all the papers lie tonight
Falling over you is the news of the day
And love will not fade away
And love love love will not fade away

Everything

I’ve always believed that tears do run dry. So I promised myself never to cry over anything or anyone that are not worth my tears. Call me CALLOUS. That’s what I am. But you know what? This song broke my heart the first time I heard it sung by a friend. I never thought these guys who performed “Hanging by a Moment” would make me break my promise. It made me realize what having it ALL truly means and what it requires…

***
Everything
Lifehouse

Find me here
And speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
You are the light
That’s leading me to the place
Where I find peace again

You are the strength
That keeps me walking
You are the hope
That keeps me trusting
You are the light to my soul
You are my purpose
You’re everything

And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this

You calm the storms
And you give me rest
You hold me in your hands
you won’t let me fall
You still my heart
When you take my breath away
Would you take me in take me deeper now

And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this

And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this

Cause you’re all I want
You’re all I need
You’re everything, everything
You’re all I want
You’re all I need
You’re everything, everything
You’re all I want
You’re all I need
You’re everything, everything
You’re all I want
You’re all I need
Everything, everything

And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this
And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better any better than this
And how can I stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this
Would you tell me how could it be
Any better than this

Go On Girl

The weekend has finally arrived! Time to give myself a pleasurable day beside the pool along with a plate of Italian pasta and shrimps! And of course, how can I forget? Relaxation won’t be complete without some cool music.

This time, I prefer playing a bunch of R&Bs from NE-YO to soothe my stressed mind and body. One of my favorites from his latest album is ‘Go on Girl’. The beat and harmony is the best so far. Try to listen to the song and sing along. Here are the lyrics… Go on girl!

***
Go on Girl
NE-YO

I cant get it back, but
I dont want it back, i
Realized that,
She dont know how to act
Never been a dumb dude
No im not dense
I Just had a slight lack
Of common sense
I was the good guy
She was the bad girl
Im thinking one girl
She thinking me, earl james and jimmy
Yep she had plenty
But love for me, she didnt have any

I was inviting, her into my heart
But she was out riding in some other man’s car
She was my night time, thought I was her star
Guess I was wrong, but see im strong
Wont take me long for me to move on

Please dont worry bout me im fine
(Please dont worry bout me im fine)
Only gonna play the fool one time
(Only gonna play the fool one time)
Trust me when I say
That i’ll be ok
Go on girl
(Go on girl)
Go on girl
(Go on girl)
Go on girl

I cant get it back, but
I dont want it back, i
Realized that,
She dont know how to act
Tried to settle down and look what I get
Thought it was my time, but I guess not yet
She at the bar getting drinks from many men
Im in the house, thinking shes with her girlfriends
Trust not knowing, truly not knowing
I look back now like, man, I was open

I was inviting, her into my heart
But she was out riding in some other man’s car
She was my night time, thought I was her star
Guess I was wrong, but see im strong
Wont take me long for me to move on

Please dont worry bout me im fine
(Please dont worry bout me im fine)
Only gonna play the fool one time
(Only gonna play the fool one time)
Trust me when I say
That i’ll be ok
Go on girl
(Go on girl)
Go on girl
(Go on girl)
Go on girl

The mistake i made is clear
(we never shoulda been together)
Thats the reason youre not here
(I know that I can do much better)
Not a single salty tear
Not a feeling in my chest
Baby im feeling no stress
Im too fly to be depressed

Go on Girl
Go on Girl
Go on Girl
Go on Girl

Please dont worry bout me im fine
(Please dont worry bout me im fine)
Only gonna play the fool one time
(Only gonna play the fool one time)
Trust me when I say
That i’ll be ok
Go on girl
(Go on girl)
Go on girl
(Go on girl)
Go on girl

When She Cries

The image “http://www.grabow.biz/images/RestlessHeart.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

For the past two weeks, all I did was listen to classic mushy songs! Oh yeah, along with the bright full moon, it makes me feel good inside whenever I hear the sweet melody passing through my ears.

A while ago, after finishing my snacks, I played and listened to the song ‘When She Cries’ by Restless Heart while cleaning my floor mats in our garage. Cleaning some stuff has never been this fun! You can try it as well. Here’s the lyrics of the song. Sing along and have fun!

***
When She Cries
Marc Beeson and Sonny LeMaire

The road I have travelled on
Is paved with good intentions
It’s littered with broken dreams
That never quite came true
When all of my hopes were dying
Her love kept me trying
She doesn’t has to hide
The pain that she’s been through

When she cries at night
And she doesn’t think that I can hear her
She tries to hide all the fears she feels inside
So I pray this time
I can be the man that she deserves
‘Cause I die a little each time
When she cries

She’s always been there for me
Whenever I’m falling
When nobody else believed
She’d be there by my side
I don’t know how she takes it
Just once I like to make it
Then the tears of joy
Will fill her loving eyes

When she cries at night
And she doesn’t think that I can hear her
She tries to hide all the fears she feels inside
So I pray this time
I can be the man that she deserves
‘Cause I die a little each time
When she cries

So I pray this time
I can be the man that she deserves
‘Cause I die a little each time
When she cries

Just Drivin’ Around

You got your car just straight from the wash and you wanna take it out for a spin? Well, any joyride would surely be better with a dose of music. And here I am again with a song I think is perfect for those times that you just want to drive around.

This song is penned by Eric Carmen and David Smalley of The Raspberries. Carmen, if you do not remember, is the one who sung All By Myself and Never Gonna Fall In Love Again. So without further ado, here are the words to the song Drivin’ Around by The Raspberries:

***
Drivin’ Around
The Raspberries

Long hot days
We’ll be catchin’ the rays
(oh baby) long hot days
We’ll be catchin’ the rays
You know my tape deck is blastin’
My car’s fast

When school lets out
And the summer’s here
We’ll have some time for the sun
Throw my notebooks out
And put my car in gear
’cause we’ll be havin’ some fun

Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
You know my tape deck is blastin’
My car’s fast,

With my girl by my side
We can go for a ride
To find a place we can dance
And when it gets real dark
We can stop in the park
And have a backseat romance

Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
You know my tape deck is blastin’
My car’s fast,
I’m drivin’ around, yeah

I’ll be waitin’ all through the year
Just to get you alone with nobody near
Baby don’t be late
’cause I just can’t wait
All I wanna do is make love to you

With my girl by my side
We can go for a ride
To find a place we can dance
And when it gets real dark
We can stop in the park
And have a backseat romance, yeah

Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
You know my tape deck is blastin’
My car’s fast,
I’m drivin’ around, oh yeah

Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
You know my tape deck is blastin’
My car’s fast,
I’m drivin’ around

(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
Drivin’ around
(long hot days we’ll be catchin’ the rays)
Mama, we’ll be drivin’ around, and around and around
We’ll be drivin’ around

Teardrops On My Guitar

Taylor Swift. I think by now you should have known her. Yes, she’s the mysterious voice behind one of my fave songs Teardrops On My Guitar. Why do her tears keep falling while she strums the guitar?

For a while, hit the brake booster and feel the relaxing voice of this 18-year-old blonde stunner…

***

Teardrops On My Guitar
Taylor Swift

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won’t see
That I want and I’m needing everything that we should be
I’ll bet she’s beautiful, that girl he talks about
And she’s got everything that I have to live without

Drew talks to me, I laugh cause it’s so damn funny
That I can’t even see anyone when he’s with me
He says he’s so in love, he’s finally got it right,
I wonder if he knows he’s all I think about at night

He’s the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star
He’s the song in the car I keep singing, don’t know why I do

Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can’t breathe?
And there he goes, so perfectly,

The kind of flawless I wish I could be
She’d better hold him tight, give him all her love

Look in those beautiful eyes and know she’s lucky cause

He’s the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star
He’s the song in the car I keep singing, don’t know why I do

So I drive home alone, as I turn out the light
I’ll put his picture down and maybe
Get some sleep tonight

He’s the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only one who’s got enough of me to break my heart
He’s the song in the car I keep singing, don’t know why I do

He’s the time taken up, but there’s never enough
And he’s all that I need to fall into..

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won’t see.

Don’t Dream It’s Over

‘Don’t Dream it’s Over’… one of the immortal alternative rock songs of the 90s that surely rocked the airwaves. This timeless masterpiece was done and sang by Crowded House and later on revived by the sweet-voiced group named Sixpence None the Richer. The song is very inspirational and lyrics tell a story of war, love and liberation. Check out the words and sing along with me!

***
Don’t Dream It’s Over
Neil Finn

There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There’s a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you’ll never see the end of the road
While you’re traveling with me

Hey now, hey now
Don’t dream it’s over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won’t win

Now I’m towing my car, there’s a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there’s no proof
In the paper today tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the T.V. page

Hey now, hey now
Don’t dream it’s over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
We know they won’t win

Now I’m walking again to the beat of a drum
And I’m counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only shadows ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and relief

Hey now, hey now
Don’t dream it’s over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
Don’t ever let them win

Hey now, hey now
Don’t dream it’s over
Hey now, hey now
When the world comes in
They come, they come
To build a wall between us
Don’t ever let them win

Where The Blacktop Ends

Where do you think is the end of the blacktop? Keith Urban knows. The country music singer, who is famed for bagging a much-deserved Australian Grammy Award, is adored for his moving songs and soulful voice.

One of my personal favorites is Where The Blacktop Ends. The song goes this way…

***

Where The Blacktop Ends
Keith Urban

Gonna kick off my shoes
And run in bare feet
Where the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meet
Goin’ back to the well gonna visit old friends
And feed my soul where the blacktop ends

I’m lookin’ down the barrel of Friday night
Ridin’ on a river of freeway lights
Goodbye city I’m country bound
‘Til Monday rolls around

Gonna kick off my shoes
And run in bare feet
Where the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meet
Goin’ back to the well gonna visit old friends
And feed my soul where the blacktop ends

Workin’ in the grind is an uphill road
Punchin’ that clock and carryin’ that load
I bust it all week and then I’m free
The weekend belongs to me

Gonna kick off my shoes
And run in bare feet
Where the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meet
Goin’ back to the well gonna visit old friends
And feed my soul where the blacktop ends

So, come on and give me some fresh air give me that farm
Give me some time with you in my arms
Far away from the hustle and the pressure and the noise

Gonna kick off my shoes
And run in bare feet
Where the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meet
Goin’ back to the well gonna visit old friends
And feed my soul, you betcha

Gonna kick off my shoes
And run in bare feet
Where the grass and the dirt and the gravel all meet
Goin’ back to the well gonna visit old friends
And feed my soul where the blacktop ends

Where the blacktop ends
Where the blacktop ends

Rhythm From A Red Car

If you are into hard rock today, you might like this song I dug up.  This is performed by the band Hardline.  You might be familiar with the band as at one time, it was very popular in Hollywood.  The band though only received limited popularity as it entered the industry after Nirvana dominated the airwaves.  Anyway, this song I want to share with you is entitled Rhythm from a Red Car.  And when I hear it, it brings to mind a picture of a red Ferrari Enzo.

Rhythm From A Red Car
by Hardline

Hit like lightnin’, and my head stops spinnin’ around
I’m caught in a shuffle on the corner of lost and found
Well wait and see truth by me, didn’t need to say a word
Her lips did all the talkin’, and not a sound was ever heard
Pray, pretty, won’t you tell me what’s on your mind
She’s got a rhythm from a red car, she’s got a rhythm from a red car
Here we go baby, takin’ a turn for the better
I work your curves, girl, let the road run on forever
Now you’re lookin’ good in the mirror, then you blind me with your lies
Well you’re drivin’ me crazy on this road to paradise
Pray, pretty, won’t you tell me what’s on your mind
She’s got a rhythm from a red car, she’s got a rhythm from a red car
(In your eyes I see, you’re telling me that you want it too)
She’s got a rhythm from a red car, she’s got a rhythm from a red car
(In your eyes I see, you’re telling me that you want it too)
(Solo)
Rhythm from a red car, she’s got a rhythm from a red car
(In your eyes I see, you’re telling me that you want it too)
She’s got a rhythm from a red car, she’s got a rhythm from a red car
(In your eyes I see, you’re telling me that you want it too)
She’s got a rhythm, rhythm

Like A Broke Down Engine

Feelin’ like a broke down engine at times. Yeah, it’s kinda weird but it happens to me every once in a while (and I think it’s quite normal for everyone). There are times when misery and nostalgia strike making it so hard to cope. Pity.

A broke down engine couldn’t move a car even when you have the most sophisticated radiator and auto parts. But timely repairs will make the difference.

That particular feeling reminds me of Bob Dylan’s song titled Broke Down Engine. Let’s sing with the legendary music icon…

***
Broke Down Engine
Bob Dylan

Feel like a broke down engine ain’t got no drivin’ wheel
Feel like a broke down engine ain’t got no drivin’ wheel
You all been down and lonesome, you know just how a poor man feels.

Been shooting craps and gambling, momma, and I done got broke
Been shooting craps and gambling, momma, and I done got broke
I done pawned my pistol baby, my best clothes been sold.

Lordy, Lord, Lordy, Lordy, Lord, Lordy, Lordy, Lordy
Lordy Lord.

I went down in my praying ground, fell on my bended knees
Went down to my praying ground, fell on my besnded knees
I ain’t cryin’ for no religion, Lord, give me back my good gal please.

If you give me back my baby, I won’t worry you no more
Give me back my baby, I won’t worry you no more
Don’t have to put her in my house, Lordy, just lead her to my door.

Lordy, Lord, Lordy, Lordy, Lord, Lordy, Lordy, Lordy
Lordy Lord.

Can’t you hear me baby, rappin’ on your door ?
Can’t you hear me baby, rappin’ on your door ?
Now you hear me tappin’, tappin’ across your floor.

Feel like a broke down engine, ain’t got no drive at all
Feel like a broke down engine, ain’t got no drive at all
What made me love my woman, she can really do the Georgia Crawl.

Feel like a broke down engine, ain’t got no whistle or bell
Feel like a broke down engine, ain’t got no whistle or bell
If you’re a real hot momma, come take away Daddy’s weeping spell.
