Driving With Romance

We went out to purchase an AEM V2 intake and also to have some of car’s emission parts fixed. It was dark like 7:00 pm already and I asked my wife to accompany me to a restaurant. I gave her a surprise dinner. Then after that we went home riding in my Ford Mustang.

The Cars

I turned on the radio looking for a romantic music or song. Hmmm… Remember the group The Cars? Well, if you don’t, I can’t blame you. They are not that famous plus they existed in the late 70’s to the late 80’s. Well, you might ask about the relevance of “The Cars” to my story, well, Drive, one of their songs, was the one playing on the radio.

Drive was the most successful single of the American New Wave band. It was used in a video of the Ethiopian famine as prepared by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It was introduced by David Bowie at the 1985 Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium in London. Imagine how famous the song is.

For me, the song reminds me of the times when my wife and I are enjoying the romance of our youth. We use to play the song every time I drive her home. Well, anyway, I’d like to share with you a piece of the song. Here is the song Drive from The Cars. Check this out:

Drive
The Cars

Who’s gonna tell you when it’s too late
Who’s gonna tell you things aren’t so great
You can’t go on thinking nothing’s wrong
Who’s gonna drive you home tonight

Who’s gonna pick you up when you fall
Who’s gonna hang it up when you call
Who’s gonna pay attention to your dreams
Who’s gonna plug their ears when you scream

You can’t go on thinking nothing’s wrong
Who’s gonna drive you home tonight

Who’s gonna hold you down when you shake
Who’s gonna come around when you break
